Neurospicy? Overwhelmed? Meet the recipe app that gets it.

Whether you’re neurodivergent, perimenopausal, overwhelmed, or just tired — Hold My Spoon makes recipes easier to follow, your way.

how it works

Import Your Recipe

You know that huge list of recipes you’ve got piled up in Pinterest? Or the mountain of cookbooks that are currently being used as coffee table books? Or the recipe handed down by your Nan (if only you could read hear writing). It’s their tie to shine! Take a photo, upload a pdf, enter text or import a recipe via URL.

Let Us Do Our Thing

We’ll turn the recipe into a tried and tested format, that will work for your brain! No more flicking from recipe back to ingredients. No more surprise ingredients at the end (no one said basil before step 10!). No more assumed steps (as if onions come diced from the shops).

Get Cooking

Get your grocery list, then enter cook mode. Your distraction free cooking environment with easy to follow instructions (like, actually.), gentle reminders to come back to your cooking and a celebration when you’re done – because we know a meal on the table is worth celebrating.

what does a reformatted recipe look like?

FRom overwhelmed to “oh, i’ve got this!”

First up, there’s no endless scroll through someone’s life story just to get to the ingredients. No pop-ups, no autoplay videos, no back-and-forth between steps and the shopping list. Just one calm, focused task at a time — with exactly what you need, when you need it. Ingredients are embedded into each step, audio instructions are ready when your hands are full, and the layout is made for real brains, not food bloggers. It’s everything you wish a recipe looked like on your most overloaded day.

Normal recipe format, not designed for overwhelmed, ADHD or neuro spicy brains.

Who is Hold My Spoon For?

If recipes make you anxious, distracted, or just done before you even start — you’re in the right place.

Hold My Spoon is for the cooks who don’t need more inspiration — they need instructions that don’t overwhelm their brain. Whether you’re neurodivergent, navigating brain fog, juggling a baby on one hip, or simply too overloaded to think straight, this isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing things differently — in a way that actually works for you.

ADHD Brains

For the folks who forget what they’re doing mid-recipe, can’t hold all the steps in their head, and get overwhelmed before the oven even preheats. This is structure without pressure — designed for your kind of focus.

Women in Peri/Menopause

For the women who used to cook without thinking, and now find themselves foggy, flustered, or second-guessing every step. This is a calm, clear recipe format for brains in transition.

Mums of New Borns

For the sleep-deprived, one-handed multitaskers who need dinner to happen on autopilot. You don’t have time to think — so we’ve done it for you, one step at a time.

Overwhelmed Humans

For anyone who looks at a regular recipe and thinks, “Nope, not today.” This is your pause button, your easy button, and your you-can-do-this tool — all in one.

And anyone who has ever said:

Cooking just feels like too much. I look in the fridge and only see ingredients, I have no idea what to make, or where to start.

Sorry DoorDash.

These folks stopped spending $30 on dinner they already had the ingredients for — not because they suddenly got motivated, but because the recipe finally made sense. Now they’re cooking again, with less stress, fewer steps, and a lot more follow-through. You can too.

Yes! Hold My Spoon works as a progressive web app. Here’s how to add it to your home screen:

On iPhone (Safari):
  1. Tap the share icon (box with arrow) at the bottom of the screen
  2. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”
  3. Tap “Add” in the top right corner
On Android (Chrome):
  1. Tap the three dots menu in the top right
  2. Tap “Add to Home screen”
  3. Tap “Add” when prompted

Cook Mode is a distraction-free, full-screen version of your recipe — with one step at a time, optional audio, and gentle chimes if your mind drifts or you need a break. You can even edit the recipe from this screen, if you like a little extra chili (or a little less), so you don’t have to remember next time.

Does the food shopping part get you down? We’re working on Instacart integration so you can send your shopping list directly from the app — and get what you need to start cooking tonight. Each recipe has your shopping list at the start, so you can get everything you need (including those “optional” items they throw in at the end). Until the integration is ready, you can copy and the paste the list into your shopping app.

Finally — Recipes That Match the Way You Think

No more guessing, backtracking, or brain fog in the kitchen.
