I’ve always been the kind of person who likes to get things done — building businesses, juggling a million things at once, solving problems. I’m a self-made business woman, running small, high-performing teams. I have built and scaled numerous Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) by leaning into automation and smart systems. I love efficiency, champagne, strategy, Padel and figuring out ways to make life — and business — run smoother. Basically, I’m obsessed with hacks that actually work.
But then, out of nowhere, cooking went from easy-peasy to “what even is a meal?” Undiagnosed ADHD (just ask my sister) and very diagnosed perimenopause decided to crash the party. Even in my dream kitchen — designed perfectly for me — I was basically living off the air fryer, microwave, and way too much UberEats. And that just didn’t sit right, because I care deeply about health, longevity, and eating well.
So I started experimenting. I hacked my favourite recipes with a bit of AI (one of my nerdy passions), researched and tested brain-friendly hacks, and started reformatting recipes so they actually made sense to me. My entrepreneurial brain was in heaven — a puzzle to solve, systems to design, processes to optimise. Then I told a friend — a diagnosed ADHD brain — who said, “Jess… this is a thing. You’re onto something.” That little spark grew, and Hold My Spoon was born.
Hold My Spoon takes those same cooking hacks and turns your own recipes – the meals you already love but can’t stand to cook – into simple, doable steps — backed by market research, tested by real humans, and designed to make cooking easier for people who’ve got too much going on in their heads. I’m not a tech wizard or a doctor, just someone who loves systems, hates chaos, and wants a smarter, seamless, more fun way to cook.
Hold My Spoon is a boutique (rapidly growing) business expanding in Australia and the US. We’re a small team of real people creating tools that make cooking simpler, kinder, and way less stressful — because everyone deserves to enjoy mealtime, no matter how busy or distracted life gets.
Catch you in the kitchen,
Jess xo
